iOS 10 Golden Master - Released
What is going on guys Apple Fox here and Apple has released the GM version of iOS 10. So as always I want to give you the information you need about it. So let’s get started.
Well it is just a huge update so it’s about 1,7gb. In case you have 16 Gb iPhone, your capacity is roughly at 12gb so you probably don’t have that much storage available. But Apple of course offers you to remove some apps that get again installed automatically after the update.
In case you don’t know what the GM version means, it stands for Golden Master. The golden master is the sign that Apple is finishing the iOS 10. And soon we’ll be seeing the official version of iOS 10. It will be on Tuesday by the way and the GM version is available both for developers and public testers. The GM is pretty much the same thing as the official version that we’re going to see on the 13th of September.
So as always let’s take a look at the capacity and before the updating to GM my capacity was 12,15GB. And after the capacity got down to 12,13Gb which is really something I didn’t expect, of course the difference is not huge but it’s there.
So there aren’t many big changes everything is just being preprared for the public release, there isn’t anything like a new feature in the GM but if you remember in my older videos of the betas of iOS 10 I was showing you that the health app is redesigned but also that the videos in these categories don’t work so in the Golden Master it’s fixed and now you can play the video without any problems. Besides that there aren’t some new features, but it’s quite stable. The 8th beta that was released before has also been stable but the Golden Master is the real thing so it would be really disappointing if this version would crash a lot or something.
So should you update? Well I honestly don’t see a reason not to. It’s fast, speedy and there’s nothing to lose expect for the couple megabytes after the update. So if you’re a part of the beta program then I would definitely go for it. You of course will be able to update to the official version once it drops without any problems.
